Sara Maloney: 30 Questions with the ARCA/Hooters Pro Cup Hopeful
1. Which do you prefer; dirt or asphalt (watch or compete)? Considering I’ve only raced on dirt so far, I’d say dirt. I think dirt will probably always be more exciting as far as watching, due to the totally different handling and set ups compared to smoother asphalt racing. But, asphalt’s going to get me to NASCAR.
2. What is your biggest pet peeve? When someone tries to be somebody they're not for attention or whatever reason…Just be yourself you're way cooler that way! And loud exhaust pipes on cars that have nothing done to the engines.
3. If you could have dinner with three racing personalities (dead or alive), who would you choose? Dale Earnhardt Sr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Jimmie Johnson
4. Do you have any superstitions? If so, what are they? No, I don’t think so.
5. What color should never appear on a race car? Well, I know they say green, but I don’t think it matters.
6. Were you named after anyone? I was going to be a Taylor, until my mom heard that song with Sara in it while at the hospital. And that’s where my name came from; a song.
7. What is on your list of things to do within your lifetime? I don’t really have a list other than to make it to NASCAR and try and see as much of this beautiful world as possible. I like to try and live everyday like it’s the last, have fun, be happy and try not to worry about to much. I’d like to be successful in whatever I do, not like rich successful, but happy successful, do what’s fulfilling, help others and be happy with whatever is thrown my way.
8. Where was your last vacation? My last BIG vacation was Las Vegas in 2005. Last summer in 2006 we went camping in Kentucky somewhere, but it was a very relaxing vacation compared to Las Vegas.
9. What are your three favorite TV shows? I really don’t watch a lot of TV, but I’d have to say: Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Speed Channel usually has good stuff on, like Overhaulin’, and Planet Earth on Discovery.
10. What is the one item in your life you couldn’t live without? Water.
11. If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Probably to be able to fly, like superman. But, I just want to fly not fight battles. I love flying, so if I could fly or have a really sweet jet pack that would be cool.
12. What is the stupidest thing you’ve ever done? Too many to even think of one off the top of my head.
13. If you could run in any race in any division, which race would you choose? This is easy…Daytona 500.
14. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Hmm, not a huge fan on ice cream, but any with chocolate chunks…Moosetracks is good.
15. If you were a benevolent dictator and president-for-life, what three laws would you enact? Ten Commandments, free food and free diet and exercise consulting to go with the free food. I don’t know!
16. Would you lie to protect a friend? Hmm, trick question…depends on the situation and what I’m protecting them from.
17. What are your nicknames? Don’t really have a particular one, but people sometimes call me Maloney or Speedy. But, those don’t really count.
18. If you had to live in another country, where would you live? Ireland or France
19. What is your favorite snack food? The newest one is cream cheese, salsa, and chips. Try it!
20. Stay at home or go out on the town? Both
21. If they made a movie of your life, which actor would play you? I'd be the fastest and greatest female race car driver ever. And I’d win the Daytona 500 and the championship.
22. What is your favorite lunch meat? Sara Lee Honey Roasted Turkey
23. What kind of movie do you prefer? Comedy, drama, sci-fi, horror or action? Action
24. What is your ultimate meal? The Ultimate Feast from Red Lobster or Jack Daniels Steak and shrimp from Friday’s.
25. What stick and ball sport do you enjoy? Softball or Street hockey
26. Do you prefer winter, summer, spring or fall? Spring, it’s the perfect weather and new life is beginning, plus race season is on its way.
27. What was the last book that you read? The last full book was My Mother’s Eyes, by Anna Orenstein, which was excellent. Recently, I tried to begin reading The Count of Monte Cristo, but haven’t got far on that. It’s like 1,000 pages to long for me, but I’ll read it eventually.
28. Do you believe in ghosts? Ghosts no, Spirits yes
29. If you could live as someone else for one day, who would you choose to be? Well, I don’t want to be anyone else, but myself. However, living a day as a rich movie star who just shops all day would be interesting and totally opposite of me, but I don’t think I’d enjoy a whole day of shopping. For example: Paris Hilton
30. Do you believe in fate? I believe our lives are planned and laid out before us. We all have a purpose and are designed to do something while we’re here on earth that is meaningful and purposeful. Our lives are mapped out, but we have a free will to choose to go forward or fall behind. When our time comes, are time comes, that’s why I try not to worry because you never no when you’ll take your last breathe. Enjoy everyday and live life to its fullest. Dream big and never give up!
