BSD Vol.:  Everyone agrees that Sunday's Brickyard 400 was horrid.  What impact, if any, do you see it having on future events?

Arianne:  As embarrassing as the event was, I have to believe that some good will come from it.  Open testing for next season will be one thing. It would be nice to think that some adjustments to the COT will follow.  Overall, Goodyear and NASCAR have to get serious about addressing these issues and they need to hold sponsors accountable.  It does not matter if it's Goodyear, Sunoco or Raybestos.  NASCAR made changes to the car that will affect competition in many areas, not just tires. If testing is opened up next year, Goodyear will have no excuse for showing up with tires like they did on Sunday.

Kris:  I don't think it will have much impact of future events. I think people realize that was a one time thing and those that can afford to buy gasoline to travel to races, still will do so. I personally wonder why so many people enjoy Indy anyway- because the view of the race track is pretty much limited.

Kimmie:  Open testing will be the big thing.  When teams can choose where they can go, competition will be better and safety will be at the forefront because issues like this can be solved in advance.

Sheree: I didn't get to see too much of the Brickyard this past weekend, but that happens when you have a three year old little boy! I did get to see some of the race and once again I see there were more and more tire problems again! This is becoming very familiar at Indy. Goodyear did ship in a brand new set of tires for the teams. Every year it seems there are more and more cautions for tires and such. I don't know what they're going to do about the problems, but I do know more and more drivers will be speaking out in hopes of helping the chaos! As I was trying to keep an eye on the race, I realized every time I came into the room it was always under a caution. Now I realize I didn't miss much since it was more filled with cautions then it was racing. We will wait and see what happens next. But does anyone think that they would actually ever take The Brickyard off the schedule? Well, I highly doubt it! Have any comments about our thoughts? Brianna:  OMG!!!   The past is the past.  The Pocono folks are gonna have a great event.  I am looking for the Gibbs team to come on strong.  The impact is WOW - this is happening and when I was watching it I couldn't believe it.

Heather: I think you will see many of those vying for the championship taking it a bit easier until Goodyear corrects the tire problems drivers experienced at The Brickyard. I think Goodyear will be working overtime with NASCAR to discover the problem and make sure it doesn't happen again at future events. Otherwise, I think the season will progress as normal.
